ARTIST STATEMENT

Creating images and symbols from
my inner voice has been my mode
of expression ever since I began
drawing as a small child.
I believe that creating art has
the power to help us find our way
back to the soul – a journey of
passion, exploration and healing.

For more than two decades,
I have explored how art helps
heal the body, mind and spirit.
As the Artist in Residence at
Massachusetts General Hospital
for Children, I find that
sometimes words are too difficult
or complex to open our hearts.
Color, symbols and images help
young patients communicate from
a far deeper place than words can
access, helping them and their
families cope with the stress of
illness and the hospital experience.

I invite everyone to share in this
journey of creation toward our
own inner beauty.
